Born and raised in the heart of Hot Springs, Lloyd is not just a local; he’s a cherished pillar of the community. His story is one of perseverance, dedication, and a deep-rooted commitment to those he serves. Graduating from Hot Springs High School in 1972, Lloyd embarked on a journey marked by both personal and professional milestones. In April 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, a bond that has beautifully withstood the test of time. Their 47 years together are a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they’ve built a family that radiates warmth and joy, blessed with three remarkable children and ten wonderful grandchildren.
Lloyd’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident from an early age. At just 12, he began his first venture, selling flower seeds and grit newspapers door-to-door. His relentless drive and ambition soon led him to secure his own paper route, laying the foundation for his future successes. The summer between his sophomore and junior years at college, Lloyd and his best friend took a bold step and purchased a small café in downtown Hot Springs. Although the venture didn’t yield significant profits, Lloyd’s resilience and determination were clear as he used the café to support his family through challenging times.
In August 1976, Lloyd graduated from Henderson State University and immediately turned his attention to the next opportunity. He purchased a modest car wash and began his journey in the automotive world. His work ethic and vision propelled him forward, leading to the expansion of his business to include two full-service car washes and one self-serve wash. Through these endeavors, Lloyd built valuable relationships with car dealers and wholesalers, gaining insights that would prove pivotal.
It was in 1989 that Lloyd recognized a key opportunity: while the car wash business was rewarding, selling cars offered greater financial potential.
